According to The Mirror, the newlywed bride had only just got married at the Church of St Michael the Archangel and was standing outside on the front steps with her husband being greeted by the cheering crowds.
It was in that moment that a shot rang out across the town, piercing the quiet Dartmoor air.Mary collapsed to the ground, a red spot of blood just above her heart visible through her crisp white wedding dress.Within seconds, she was dead.
