A 12-year-old boy died after having an allergic reaction to his Christmas dinner, an inquest heard. Cason Hallwood, who had a nut allergy, died in hospital after falling ill on Christmas Day last year.
The 'livewire' youngster, who also suffered from asthma, had gone to play with friends at the park after eating dinner at his grandparents' house with his mum Louise, and three brothers Cowen, Corley and Caiden, CheshireLive reports.
An inquest into Cason's death held at Parr Hall in Warrington on Monday (October 11) heard that his grandfather Albert, who cooked the meal, had 'completely forgotten' about his allergy before realising the glaze used on the gammon contained nuts.
