Bolton Wanderers invite over 16s to get vaccinated at the University of Bolton Stadium

Vaccination efforts in the borough have stepped up in the last few days, following a surge in cases of the B.1.617.2 strain of coronavirus - often referred to as the Indian variant.

A walk-in vaccination site at Essa Academy, in Great Lever, has been vaccinating thousands of people and now Bolton Wanderers' stadium will be offering a similar service.

However, people have to book a five-minute slot in order to get a jab, rather than just turning up. The official Bolton Wanderers account tweeted: "Pfizer Vaccinations at the @UoBStadium
