Black Pound Day, celebrated on the first Saturday of every month, supports black-owned businesses across the UK, with the first being held back in June.

Founded by So Solid Crew member Swiss, the day is a “solution-based, community-empowering campaign and motivating endeavour that will leave a better infrastructure for the next generation to walk into".The initiative also encourages shoppers to support black-owned businesses on a longterm basis to help the growth of the UK’s black economy.

According to the Black Pound Day website, "if we spend just £10 a week on Black businesses, we can inject £1.9bn into the Black community".

Utah woman dies in Switzerland hiking accident during a Latter-day Saints mission
A 20-year-old Latter-day Saints missionary from Utah who was serving in Switzerland died Tuesday after a hiking accident, according to officials.  Annabelle Nielsen, of Highland, was hiking with five other missionaries when she "tragically slipped" and fell down a "steep incline," according to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints spokesman Daniel Woodruff. "We are deeply saddened to share news of the passing of a young missionary serving in Switzerland," Woodruff said in a statement.  Nielsen was assigned to the Alpine German-Speaking Mission and had been serving since July 2019.
