The BBC is putting a number of box sets on iPlayer after the service set a new record for daily usage. My Family, The Kumars At No 42, Doctor Foster and Rhod Gilbert’s Work Experience will all be brought back to iPlayer.
Strike, Taboo, Tourist Trap and Dracula will also be made available on the platform. Drama The A Word, as well as David Walliams’ children’s programmes Billionaire Boy and The Midnight Gang, have also been recently added to iPlayer.
On Tuesday, the BBC said that March 23 was the iPlayer’s most popular day ever with 20.4 million requests to stream programmes.
This was the day when Prime Minister Boris Johnson addressed the nation to announce lockdown measures as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
