Criminal lawyer Robert Kearney was found to have ‘failed to act with integrity’ during the course of the three-day pupillage in 2015.
The Bar Tribunals and Adjudication Service (BATS) found Mr Kearney ‘engaged in inappropriate behaviour of a sexual nature’ towards the woman when he was in a position of trust.
He denies the allegations and is appealing the decision and sanction. A mini-pupillage is a short period of time during which a student lawyer shadows a barrister in chambers.
