For the first time in its history, the British Academy has released longlists across all categories for its film awards. The final nominations lists will be announced March 9, with the ceremony — postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic — now due to take place April 11.
The decision to publish the nominations longlists was made as part of a major overhaul to BAFTA's voting procedures announced last year aimed at addressing the lack of diversity at the BAFTA film awards.
Within some 120 wide-ranging changes, a new longlisting initial round was introduced, resulting in three rounds of voting.Round one voting, which took place from January 12 to 26, produced the longlists in all categories being announced.
