Ayrshire train services to face disruption at weekends due to £4m engineering works project

Ayrshire rail services will be disrupted over the next four weekends as engineers replace ageing track.ScotRail services running between Glasgow Central and Ayr and Glasgow Central and Ardrossan will be impacted while Network Rail renew more than a mile of track at various locations between the city and Kilwinning.Rail chiefs say short-term closures of the line are essential to carry out the complex £4 million project.Replacement bus services will operate on Sundays between Paisley Gilmour Street and Kilwinning while works are carried out.

A direct bus will also operate between Glasgow Central and Ardrossan Harbour to connect with ferry sailings.
