The first anniversary of the death of the much-loved broadcaster Keelin Shanley will be marked by her family on Monday. Ms Shanley, former presenter of RTÉ’s Six One News, died on February 8 last year at St Vincent’s hospital in Dublin.
She had been suffering from cancer. Figures last week show that her memoir, There Is A Light That Never Goes Out, was the bestselling autobiography in Ireland last year.
It also won the An Post readers’ choice book of the year at the Irish Book Awards, an event she previously presented annually.
