'An absolutely tragic incident': Police statement after two men, in their 30s and 40s, die in Salford horror smash

Pendlebury. The crash involved two vehicles - a Renault Megane and a Mitsubishi Shogun.On arrival, police found that two men - the occupants of the Renault - had died as a result of their injuries.

One man is believed to be in his 30s and the other in his 40s, say police. The driver of the Mitsubishi, a man in his 60s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

He remains there in a stable condition.
