From big sale events like Amazon Prime Day, which is likely to take place in July this year, and the massive Black Friday sales to daily 'Lightning deals', Amazon very rarely sells things for their recommended retail prices.

It means savvy shoppers can get big discounts on everything from electrical items to fashion and beauty products. There is also an elephant in the room.

Many of the hundreds of thousands of Amazon discounts are not actually that good. For example, an Echo Dot for £25.99 is a good enough deal but it's unlikely to ever go higher than that this year.
