Bosses at Heaton Park Primary School, in Prestwich, say they have 'tried hard to keep school open' but 'have to act now' after a rising number of cases among pupils and staff.Schools across the region are continuing to be affected by positive cases.

The impact isolations are having on children's education last week sparked a move by all headteachers in Wigan to lobby the government over GCSEs.
