Macclesfield Town Football Club have been wound up after a judge was told they owed half a million pounds to creditors. A supporter's group say they putting together a rescue bid after the "devastating" ruling earlier today.Judge Sebastian Prentis made a winding up order at a virtual hearing of the specialist Insolvency and Companies Court on Wednesday morning.He was told the club owe nearly £190,000 in tax and more than £170,000 to two other creditors.Lawyers representing HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) had applied for a winding up order.The club's owner Amar Alkadhi had asked for a further eight week adjournment to allow a sale of the club to go through.But judge, overseeing the latest in a series of hearings, said he could see nothing.
