Tamworth's first library in the shape of a stunning new high end restaurant. Signs have appeared outside Paparazzi, the former Carnegie Centre in Corporation Street, advertising the venue opening soon.

We first revealed the exciting plans in September 2020 and this afternoon, Tuesday, June 14, Birmingham Live was treated to an exclusive guided tour of how it is all shaping up.

While work is ongoing it is more than taking shape with the opening date to be revealed at the end of July. The venue has been restored to its original 1905 structure and then turned into a dining space.

Built as Tamworth's first library at a cost of £2,000 thanks to the generosity of Scottish American steel multi-millionaire Andrew Carnegie, the venue was taken over by the borough council in 1917.
