An elderly woman was left with a broken leg after a collision with a cyclist at a pedestrian crossing. The 80-year-old woman was crossing the road on Manchester Road, Droylsden, when she was struck at 12.14pm on August 4.
Initial police enquiries suggest that the cyclist was travelling in the direction of Ashton-under-Lyne when the collision took place.
The cyclist then left the scene, Greater Manchester Police have said. In a Facebook post, GMP Tameside South and West said they are appealing for any information. READ MORE: Man arrested by armed cops after 'walking the streets with a knife and an airgun' A spokesperson said: “At 12.14pm on Thursday 4 August 2022, there was a collision between a bicycle and a pedestrian on Manchester Road, Droylsden. “Initial enquiries suggest that the cyclist was travelling along the road in the direction of Ashton-under-Lyne, when the pedestrian crossed the road at a pedestrian crossing and the collision occurred.
The cyclist then left the scene." Police Sergeant Andrew Page of GMPs Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This incident left an elderly woman in her 80s with a broken leg and we are currently investigating to establish the cause of the collision.
