A woman in her 70s was rushed to hospital following a police incident in Harpurhey. Factory Lane was shut for much of Tuesday (February 8) after policer were called to a report of a concern for welfare.
Greater Manchester Police have confirmed the woman is in a serious condition. Further details have not been released. READ MORE: Police search woodland 'for body of missing person' "At around 10.22am today, emergency services were called to a report of a concern for the welfare of a woman in her 70s on Factory Lane, Harpurey," a statement from the force read. “The woman has since been taken to hospital in a serious condition.
Factory Lane remains closed while enquiries take place to establish the cause of the woman's injuries. "No arrests have been made." Witnesses at the scene reported seeing ambulances and said they heard a helicopter flying overhead.
A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service added: "One patient was taken to the hospital. "An air ambulance and two solo paramedics also attended with the ambulance crew." Factory Lane was cordoned off at the junction with Rochdale Road and Moston Lane by officers, with police tape seen further down the road.
