Woman, 20, suffers 'life-threatening' injuries after two cars smash into pedestrian on Mancunian Way

A 20-year-old woman has suffered 'life-threatening' injuries following a collision on the Mancunian Way. Emergency services rushed to the westbound carriageway in the early hours of this morning (Sunday October 8) following the incident, which involved two cars and a female pedestrian, according to Greater Manchester Police (GMP).

It happened between the Fairfield Street and A6 junctions at around 1.25am. A woman, 20, was taken to hospital, GMP confirmed. READ MORE : 'Fridays are not what they were' in Manchester and it's changing life in the city centre “At around 1:25am this morning (Saturday 8 October 2022), officers were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving two cars and a female pedestrian on Mancunian Way," a GMP spokesman said. "Emergency services attended the scene, and 20-year-old female has been taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.

A cordon will remain in place at the scene to allow further enquiries to be made.” The road re-opened at around 8.30am this morning.
