More than 4 million workers have been placed on the UK Government’s Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme since it launched earlier this month.
Under the scheme, employers can claim a grant covering 80 per cent of the wages for a furloughed employee, up to £2,500 a month.
Any UK organisation with employees affected by the Covid-19 crisis can apply for the Government help as long as they had set up a payroll scheme before March 19.
This means that people who work for businesses, charities and public authorities will be entitled to the money if their employer signs up.If you started your job after March 19 2020 then you are not eligible for the scheme and if you were made redundant after March 19, you could be put on furlough if your employer
