Whales spotted frollicking in Scottish loch just 25 miles from Glasgow

north Atlantic have been spotted frollicking near a Royal Navy Trident nuclear weapons base. Three northern bottlenose whales have been seen in Garelochhead, Argyll and Bute, where they have spent the past five days.

The deep sea creatures are usually found in deep water out at sea but have come inshore and many fear they are trapped in the Gare Loch close Faslane Naval Base.

Dad-of-four James Munro, 38, has been watching them from his home in Garelochhead at the top of the loch.James said: "This particular type of whale is way off course."They are supposed to be in the north Atlantic, it is the fifth day they have been here now."There are academics studying them and Marine Life Rescue are here, in case they beach."They are around the.
