Happy endings have been few and far between in 2020, but one came from the unlikely source of Los Angeles rapper Drakeo The Ruler.

He was arrested in 2018 and charged with murder and attempted murder, and was acquitted on both counts before the District Attorney hit him with new charges of criminal gang conspiracy and shooting from a motor vehicle.

He faced 25 years to life and would spend three years in jail — and record the album Thank You For Using GTL — before the D.A.

offered him a plea deal. Drakeo was released on November 4, and today drops his first post-prison project We Know The Truth, premiering on Complex.
