'We cannot understand' - Man City ace Rodri questions Premier League rules and refereeing decisions

Manchester City midfielder Rodri admits he is struggling to keep a lid on his emotions during games as he lamented the standards of refereeing in the Premier League and a rule book that is leaving players confused.

The Spaniard collected a seventh Premier League yellow card of the season at Newcastle on Saturday, to go with the red card he received against Nottingham Forest earlier in the campaign.

He is now three bookings away from a third suspension of the season. He saw yellow from Chris Kavanagh at St James' Park for a tackle on Bruno Guimaraes, who had just fouled Rodri himself in the centre circle.

The challenge from the Brazilian, who had already been booked, looked a very clear case of a second yellow card, but play was waved on before Rodri then fouled his opposite number.
