Ellise Shafer A series of protests over the prevelance of sexual abuse in the entertainment industry have been staged in front of prominent music companies in recent weeks, and the efforts have been gaining attention on social media via actor Alexa Nikolas. A former cast member of the 2005-2008 Nickelodeon series “Zoey 101,” Nikolas’ megaphone includes more than 255,000 followers on Instagram as well as the public support of such activist groups as the One Hundred Percenters. Her own organization is called Eat Predators, and its supporters have gathered in front of Warner Music Group’s Los Angeles headquarters on July 28; Red Light Management’s L.A. office on July 21; and Sony Music’s Culver City lot last week where about a dozen protesters held signs referencing artists affiliated with the label group who have been accused of sexual misconduct and abuse.

Thania Garcia Brintey Spears and Elton John have released “Hold Me Closer,” a reimagined duet of the piano man’s immortal tune, “Tiny Dancer.” The song is Spears’ first release since the termination of her conservatorship in November of 2021 and her first new music release in six years.While the chorus is, of course, unmistakable, the song has been completely overhauled into a breezy dance-pop song, with Spears and John duetting gently on the verses and chorus and John adding trademark piano flourishes throughout. It’s an ideal follow-up to his similar reinvention on “Cold Cold Heart” with Dua Lipa, released last summer and featured on his “Lockdown Sessions” duets album, which essentially mashed up his songs “Sacrifice” and “Rocket Man.”

Anne Heche is under investigation for felony DUI, stemming from Friday's crash.  The Los Angeles Police Department told Fox News Digital on Thursday that initially there were no reported injuries connected with the incident for victims involved. In that situation, all potential charges would have been misdemeanors.

Police are investigating Anne Heche for driving under the influence after she crashed her car into a home in Los Angeles on Friday. The crash ignited a fire and almost destroyed the Mar Vista home. Julia Jayne, founder of Jayne Law Group, P.C., explained to Fox News Digital that Heche would be charged in the crash, even if she wasn't under the influence.

Just after the news broke that actress Anne Heche has not "regained consciousness" and is in a coma following her car crash last week, Heche's 20-year-old son, Homer Laffoon, and best friend Heather Perry, were seen at the hospital where Anne is being treated.The two were spotted embracing and looking exhausted. The "Better Together" podcast episode where Anne Heche and co-host Heather Duffy "drank vodka" with "wine chasers" was taken down because of "inaccurate reporting," Fox News Digital can confirm. The episode of the podcast was posted online Friday, but removed after Heche was involved in a near-fatal collision that caught a home on fire and left the actress in "critical condition." The episode was originally recorded Tuesday - three days before the collision. "We removed the episode because there was too much inaccurate reporting that the episode was recorded on the day of the accident when in fact, it was recorded on the Tuesday before the accident," Ryan Tillotson, a spokesperson for the media company behind the podcast, told Fox News Digital.

A crowdfunding campaign for the victim living in the home Anne Heche reportedly drove her Mini Cooper into and sparked a devastating blaze in Mar Vista, California, on Friday, raised $45,000 in one day. Neighbors banded together and organized a GoFundMe campaign to help Lynne Mishele after she "very narrowly escaped physical harm" when Heche's vehicle crashed into the house and caused a fire, which took 59 firefighters to extinguish and landed Heche in the hospital.  While Mishele escaped unharmed, her home was "immediately red-tagged" and she "lost her entire lifetime of possessions" in the ordeal, which happened minutes after Heche careened into a garage door in an apartment complex down the street.  More than 770 individual donations poured into the site, which had a goal to raise $100,000 for the "kind and generous person" who was left without a home following the incident, where Heche was pulled out of her car and taken to an area hospital.
