The UK’s coronavirus death toll is just 150 behind Italy which has the highest number of fatalities in Europe. Health Secretary Matt Hancock confirmed at the daily Downing Street briefing that 28,734 people in Britain have now died from Covid-19.
Great Britain is now only 150 fatalities behind Italy with 28,884 fatalities, second worldwide only to the USA, who are approaching 70,000 deaths.
The numbers include deaths in hospitals, care homes, and the wider community, and today’s figures are the smallest rise since March.Yesterday 229 fatalities in UK hospitals were reported.
