TV Licence scam warning issued as people urged to be aware of fraud warning signs

Scammers will go to any lengths to try and con people out of handing over their personal and financial details and one of the most common ways is for crooks to pretend they are from TV Licensing.

Everyone in the UK pays for a TV Licence, unless they are over 75 and receiving Pension Credit, so it’s a bill that criminals often target knowing there are millions of people paying for it.

There are various circumstances when someone may be contacted by TV Licensing, but unfortunately, an increasing number of these are not genuine and from fraudsters.

TV Licensing News recently issued a warning on this topic through its official social media channel on Twitter which was then shared by the verified TV Licensing account.
