TV Chef Nigella Lawson Pronounces "Microwave" Like a Harry Potter Spell

There are too many words in the English language that I see on a fairly frequent basis and have a most basic understanding of but—and unforgivably so—have no idea how to pronounce.

One such term is diaspora (does the stressed syllable go like, "die-ASS-pora" or "DIE-ah-spruh"?). And up until recently, misled was another (I thought it rhymed with fizzled, until I realized that it was literally just the word led with a prefix).

Luckily, I'm not the type of person who is invited to speak on national television or lead my own wildly popular cooking series.

The lovely Nigella Lawson, however, is one of those people. And during a segment on her BBC show, Nigella’s Cook, Eat, Repeat, the acclaimed English food writer and celebrity chef stunned.
