Nigella Lawson has gone viral after using an unusual pronunciation for the word microwave when explaining a recipe. Appearing in the latest episode of her BBC cookery series, Nigella's Cook, Eat, Repeat, the star, 60, referred to the common kitchen appliance as a “mee-cro-wah-vay”.
She told viewers: “I still need a bit of milk – full fat – which I’ve warmed in the mee-cro-wah-vay.” Fans were divided on whether Nigella’s pronunciation was the ‘correct’ way to say the name of the appliance, which was invented in 1937.
