TV chef Gary Usher has announced he will be shutting all of his Elite Bistros restaurants for two-and-a-half-days a week in response to the coronavirus outbreak.

The hospitality industry has been hit hard by the spread of COVID-19, with many punters cancelling trips out. And the future looks bleak with the government expected to announce a ban on all large gatherings next week as measures to contain the spread of the virus are stepped up.

On Saturday night, Mr Usher took to Twitter to announce that his restaurant chain Elite Bistros will be reducing its hours in a bid to cut costs.

Mr Usher, born in St Albans, and raised in North Wales, was the star of The Rebel Chef: My Restaurant Revolution on Channel 4 in September 2019, which follows
