Tributes pour in for 'gentle giant' ladies rugby coach Steve Burns

Tributes are being paid to a gentle giant of the amateur rugby coaching world who died suddenly.Steve Burns suffered a fatal heart attack at his Murray home on April 1, aged 53.

The former East Kilbride Rugby player was well-known and respected both north and south of the border as a volunteer coach with clubs GHA Rugby Club, Garioch Ladies Rugby and most recently Lincoln Ladies Rugby Club.

Steve, who worked as a civil engineer, is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Janice, who extended her thanks to the paramedics who battled to resuscitate him.As well as tributes from his rugby friends, his family have received heartfelt letters of condolence from colleagues he worked with on projects in Aberdeen, The Forth Road Bridge and the new
