Edinburgh’s most historic graveyards are claiming to be left with scratches, bruises and bites from one of the city’s most infamous ghosts.The vicious MacKenzie Poltergeist is notorious for attacking visitors to Greyfriar's Kirkyard, the spot where Greyfriar's Bobby lay.Kris Rennie claims to have been left with painful scratches inflicted by the spirit when he took part in a guided tour.

He told our sister title Edinburgh Live : “My back was covered in livid, burning red scratches. “When I took pictures and sent them to my friends, they were really freaked out.

It was demonic.“What happened to me can’t be explained in any other way.”The 37-year-old from Shawlands in Glasgow was attending the Double Dead ghost walk run by City of the Dead.
