Jennifer Lopez
Jennifer Lynn Lopez (born July 24, 1969), also known by her nickname J.Lo, is an American actress, singer, dancer, fashion designer, producer and businesswoman. In 1991, Lopez began appearing as a Fly Girl dancer on In Living Color, where she remained a regular until she decided to pursue an acting career in 1993. For her first leading role in the 1997 Selena biopic of the same name, Lopez received a Golden Globe nomination and became the first Latin actress to earn over US$1 million for a film. She went on to star in Anaconda (1997) and Out of Sight (1998), later establishing herself as the highest-paid Latin actress in Hollywood.

Toronto Film Festival Launches With Animal Rights Protest

As the Toronto Film Festival gets underway, animal rights activists gathered outside Bell Lightbox to protest luxury parka maker Canada Goose's sponsorship of the awards season launchpad.

On Thursday, around a dozen protesters, led by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals and backed by mobile billboards traversing King Street, urged TIFF to cut ties with Canada Goose over how it sources its coyote fur and goose down to make its puffy jackets.

The mobile billboards had a photo of a fox alongside "TIFF & Canada Goose: Partners in Cruelty. For Your Consideration: Wear Vegan." Nearby protesters held placards that read "TIFF: Stop Taking Blood $ From Canada Goose" and the words "Canada Goose.
