Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage (born March 5, 1963), better known by his stage name Joe Exotic, is an American former zoo operator, internet personality, musician, and convicted felon. The former owner and operator of the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park (a.k.a. G. W. Zoo) in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, Maldonado-Passage had claimed to be the most prolific breeder of tigers in the United States. He twice unsuccessfully ran for public office, first for President of the United States in 2016 as an independent, and then for Governor of Oklahoma in 2018 as a Libertarian.
Carole Baskin
Carole Baskin (born June 6, 1961) is an American animal rights activist and owner of Big Cat Rescue, a non-profit animal sanctuary based near Tampa, Florida. Baskin drew public attention when she was featured in the 2020 Netflix documentary series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness about Oklahoma-based private zoo operator known as Joe Exotic. The Netflix series follows both Baskin and Joe Exotic, filming their ongoing and escalating feuds over exotic animals in private zoos. Following the series' release, Baskin has been targeted by Internet memes related to the disappearance of Don Lewis, her second husband.

Joe Exotic, star of hit Netflix docuseries Tiger King, has reportedly been granted an extension in his wrongful imprisonment lawsuit.The former zookeeper, real name Joseph Maldonado-Passage, who is currently serving a 22-year sentence in jail for plotting to kill animal rights activist Carole Baskin and other wildlife violations, claimed he wasn’t equipped with the necessary tools to appeal his conviction.According to TMZ, Exotic wrote a letter to the judge presiding over his case on Wednesday asking for an extension in order to reply to the government’s documents in the civil case — as he has been isolated in a federal prison medical centre in Texas due to COVID-19 concerns.He is reportedly seeking US$89 million in his wrongful
