direct to your inboxFive Greater Manchester boroughs now have coronavirus infection rates that are lower than the average figure for England, the latest data shows.Bolton, Salford, Tameside, Stockport and Trafford all have lower transmission rates than the average for the nation as a whole.This is the first time the infection rate in Bolton has fallen below the national average.The latest Public Health England figures show the rate in the borough for the week ending December 7 was 156.6 per 100,000 people.The rate has fallen by 19 per cent week-on-week.In the same week, the infection rate in Salford was 134.1 per 100,000.
