The South African comedian started hosting a 45-minute edition in late April as COVID-19 raged on. He said during Deadline’s Contenders Television virtual event that he wanted to include more global news on the show, but not at the expense of domestic news.“My dream was to incorporate more international news, not to inundate the audience but to give a perspective,” he said. “This virus amplified that.
