THE Chase viewers were left fuming after a contestant made a huge blunder - causing a big dent in the total jackpot. Monday evening's episode of the ITV quiz show saw four contestants take on one of the country's finest brains - and one of them soon stole the show, but for all the wrong reasons.

Les, a retired Church of England minister, took on Paul Sinha in the hope of bagging himself some winnings to go towards a holiday in Hawaii.

After a disappointing attempt in the cash builder, Les went against the advice of his teammates Lynette and Jasha. The 69-year-old selected the lowest offer of -£3,000 to return to his teammates in a rare move on the show.

After answering numerous questions correctly, Les' decision slashed the jackpot from £15,000 to £12,000 - and it didn't go down well with his counterparts.
