‘Hi-Fi Rush’ might be getting a sequel

Tango Gameworks might be working on a sequel to celebrated rhythm-based action game Hi-Fi Rush.Released at the start of 2023, Hi-Fi Rush went on to win a number of awards and was described by one Xbox marketing executive as “a break out hit for us and our players in all key measurements and expectations.”However earlier this year, Microsoft closed down several studios including Tango Gameworks, with head of Xbox Game Studios Matt Booty reportedly telling staff the company wanted to focus on “high-impact titles” and “further invest in Bethesda’s portfolio of blockbuster games”.Last month it was announced that Krafton had acquired Tango Gameworks, saving 50 of the 100 jobs at the studio, and now owned the IP for Hi-Fi Rush.In a new interview with Game Developer, Krafton boss Changhan ‘CH’ Kim said the “last minute” deal was about “legacy” rather than profit. “Although they did not have a big success in their games, we saw many creatives worth pursuing.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 fans have been getting a lot of information about the Zombies mode recently, but their first look at a main story campaign play through will be during Gamescom Opening Night Live, next week.Geoff Keighley, host of The Game Awards, Summer Game Fest, and Opening Night Live, tweeted out that the Black Ops 6 campaign play through would happen Tuesday August 20 during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live ceremony. So far, we’ve already seen one hectic but cryptic campaign trailer, set to The Prodigy‘s ‘Firestarter’, so this should be an actual segment of uncut gameplay. Call Of Duty and plenty of other games have done this in the past, and it should reveal what the game actually feels like when you get it into your own hands later this year.Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is coming to @gamescom Opening Night Live on Tuesday, August 20.Tune in for the first campaign play through reveal live from Germany.11a PT / 2p ET / 8p CEST at https://t.co/AFycLZG9XF@CallofDuty #CallofDuty #BlackOps6 pic.twitter.com/1xF7HFTOvM— Geoff Keighley (@geoffkeighley) August 9, 2024NME did a hands-off preview of Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 in June and called it “a scrappy Gulf War shooter.” Set in the ’90s, the first-person game’s story revolves around returning character Frank Woods and he and his “band of war criminals” attempt to stop a shadowy group known as The Pantheon.Developer Treyarch suggested that the game would have more stealh-focused moments, although the trailer we saw before looked anything but covert.Treyarch has also called the upcoming Zombies mode the “most-rewarding ever”, and the story for that follows Cold War‘s Requiem as they’re broken out of a prison in the Philippine Sea.
