Everyone aged five and over who lives or works in the Gamesley area of the High Peak, which is near Glossop and close to the border with Tameside, is being strongly urged to take a PCR Covid test from tomorrow, June 3, whether they have symptoms or not.
It follows the discovery of a "small number" of confirmed cases of the B1.617.2 strain of the virus, often referred to as the Indian variant as that is where it was first discovered.
