Strictly Come Dancing's Jamie Laing isn't McVitie's heir and says 'he only has what he has earnt'

It has previously been reported that Jamie Laing is heir to the McVities biscuit fortune after his great-grandfather Sir Alexander Grant began the company, but the Made in Chelsea has insisted this is not true.The Chelsea boy, who recently revealed he will propose to girlfriend Sophie Habboo if he wins the glitter ball trophy, has confirmed he will not be getting his family's fortune.

Speaking to the Mirror, the 32 year old said: "I'm not heir to anything. People always talk about this, I don't know where this has come from. "I think at the beginning of Made in Chelsea, it was all about affluent people and it was a nice story for them. "It is true my great-grandfather started McVities, so it was a nice 'in'," he said.
