Steven Gerrard

Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,

Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

Steven Gerrard saluted goal hero Alfredo Morelos for bagging the winner against Hibs - but insisted he didn't get a good look at the incident that could arguably have seen the striker sent off.

Morelos was involved in a first-half flashpoint with home defender Ryan Porteous in the 1-0 away win at Easter Road, appearing to stamp on the centre-back's knee on the edge of the box.

But the Colombian didn't even receive a yellow card from referee Kevin Clancy and would go on to smash home the only goal of the game in the second half from a neat Joe Aribo assist.

The win takes Gerrard's men even closer to the title as they maintained a 23-point gap over Celtic at the top.Gerrard told Sky Sports: "We looked after him at the weekend after 60 minutes.
