The countdown to a return to competitive action is well and truly on with the Premier Sports Cup kicking off this weekend. That has fans excitement levels going up a notch and there is more interest with the first and second round draws for the 2022/23 SPFL Trust Trophy taking place.
And while the competition gives fans of clubs outside of the top flight a realistic chance of silverware, there is also interest for Scottish Premiership supporters.Celtic, Rangers and nine other top flight clubs will have B teams in the hat with only Ross County's kids side not taking part.
Four Lowland League clubs – Cowdenbeath, East Kilbride, The Spartans and East Stirlingshire – will also be in the first round, alongside Fraserburgh, Buckie Thistle, Brechin City and Brora Rangers as the Highland League’s four representatives.Teams from Northern Ireland and Wales return later in the tournament which was won by Raith Rovers last season.The draw takes place at Airdrie's Excelsior Stadium and you can follow it in our LIVE blog.And here's how it looks for round two.
