Plans for a new 14-14-16 league set-up look to be dead in the water because of clubs’ concerns over cash payments.The reconstruction steering group is ready to put the financial figures on the table but the growing feeling within Scottish football is that the current set-up will remain unchanged.Power brokers discussed the 14-14-16 proposal at length on Monday, which would see Lowland League winners Kelty Hearts and Highland League winners Brora Rangers promoted into the senior ranks.
The plan is likely to be scuppered due to the fact Premiership teams will each get less money with two more clubs in the top flight.
