'Sick' yobs steal from veteran at Remembrance Day service

Yobs stole from a veteran while he attended a Remembrance Day service in Wigan. Andy James was at Atherton Cenotaph when the “sick” crime was committed on Thursday (November 11).

The veteran, who has served in the Royal Navy for 22 years, was moments away from observing the two-minute silence when he had his helmet snatched from his motorbike.

While facing the ceremony, he turned around to see two men on a moped “admiring” his bike, which was adorned with poppies. Suddenly, the pair mounted the pavement and ripped the £200 helmet away from the handlebars.
