The man who lives in Battlefield Gardens in the city's southside was looking out at the rainwater that had turned his street into more of a canal when he spotted a woman wearing a mermaid outfit attempting to swim in the flood water.The unusual sight came as streets across the city dealt with torrential downpours that saw many streets and roads across Glasgow flooded as drainage systems struggled to cope.Scots drivers have been urged to take extra care on the roads, while rail travel across the country has also been disrupted.Streets in Glasgow's southside have been particularly affected with areas of Battlefield and Shawlands suffering with flooding.
