Scotland set for 'March heatwave' as temperatures soar to 17 degrees

Met Office predicts highs of 17 degrees on Thursday with temperatures to remain decent for the rest of the week and weekend.

Experts say Dumfries, Galloway, Lothian and Borders will reach a maximum temperature 17C on Thursday.According to the Met Office: "People in the Borders can expect a dry day with clouds thinning and breaking to give bright or sunny spells.

A mild day and feeling pleasant in the afternoon sunshine. Light winds. Maximum temperature 17 C."Glasgow and the surrounding areas will see a high of 16C.

The Met Office said: "A dry, bright day inland with clouds thinning and breaking to give sunny spells. Mist and low cloud lingering over west Argyll.
