The annual fan bath known as Comic-Con was officially canceled Friday due to the ongoing coronavirus lockdown. The summer event was scheduled to run July 23 to July 26 at the San Diego Convention Center, potentially drawing 130,000 visitors from all over the world.
The spread of COVID-19 has caused worldwide shutdowns and cancellations, including everything from Burning Man and the NBA season to Hollywood productions and film festivals. The full statement from the Comic-Con Museum: “Comic-Con International is officially cancelling the 2020 San Diego Comic-Con, marking the first time in 50 years that the show will not go on.
