Ryanair has issued a stark warning to anyone planning to book a holiday with the airline next year. The budget airline's boss Michael O’Leary said a surge in bookings for 2022 may result in prices to soar as travellers look to go abroad without restrictions.
He explained the huge demand for holidays in destinations such as Spain, Greece, Italy and Portugal would coincide with fewer flights - resulting in a price hike for seats and hotels.
This is because there will be a shortage of millions of seats on flights due to the collapse of Thomas Cook, Flybe and Norwegian Air.After more than a year of staycations, it is expected that a surge in the number of people will want to book their first foreign holiday since the pandemic began.
