If you love animals, why not consider taking up a volunteering role to help look after them – whether that's by fostering, fundraising or just popping in every now and again to visit them?

RSPCA's Stockport, East Cheshire and West Derbyshire branch is calling on locals to lend a hand in looking after unwanted animals in its care.

The charity is looking for volunteers for a variety of different roles, such as foster carers for cats and dogs, and individuals to help with fundraising, home visits, IT support, administration, and accounts.

Volunteer cat cuddlers are also needed – to care for and socialise with the cats in the charity's care, in two hour slots. A committee of locally elected volunteers, the branch relies on locally funded money
