Rose Ayling-Ellis' pals are reportedly concerned that she and boyfriend Sam Arnold have been hit by the Strictly Come Dancing curse following her win on the show. The 27 year old became the first ever deaf contestant to win the Glitterball trophy last year alongside professional dancer Giovanni Pernice – who fans were convinced was in love with her.

Following her victory, the star has been inundated with opportunities as she went on tour with Strictly, signed a CBeebies Bedtime Story for Deaf Awareness Week and unveiled the first Barbie doll with hearing aids.

And while she's kept her relationship with Sam under wraps, pals have reportedly been left concerned that they've been growing apart behind closed doors. “Rose and Sam drifted apart, especially after she became so busy with work projects and was in-demand with new work opportunities," a source told The Sun.They continued: “They still have a lot of love and respect for each other, but they’re also still young and working out their lives. “Rose went to Barcelona on her own to gather her thoughts and think about what she wanted. They have both grown as people since they first starting dating. “This is Rose’s moment and she is grabbing life by the horns, focusing on her career and taking any opportunity that she can.” OK!

has approached Rose's representatives for further comment. After making her exit from hit soap EastEnders, Rose revealed she's set to front a new BBC documentary titled Signs For Change, which will focus on the daily challenges and barriers faced by deaf individuals.
