Rod Stewart and Johnny Hallyday has died at the age of 68 following a battle with cancer.  The British musician, who was a member of the iconic pop-rock band The Wombles before he went on to perform alongside Rod Stewart and tour the US during the 1980s, passed away yesterday, friends of the guitarist announced today.

Phil Chen was a prolific session bassist who played with Rod Stewart, Jeff Beck, and Ray Manzarek (1939–2013) and Robby Krieger of the Doors.  Chen was an in-demand bassist who performed and recorded with many rock legends including Rod Stewart and Jeff Beck. The Jamaican born Chen played on Stewart’s hit song “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?” and on Beck’s classic 1975 album “Blow by Blow.” He was a member of the Butts Band with ex-Doors Robby Krieger and John Densmore and later joined Krieger and ex-Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek in their band Manzarek-Krieger.
