Joe Exotic
Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage (born March 5, 1963), better known by his stage name Joe Exotic, is an American former zoo operator, internet personality, musician, and convicted felon. The former owner and operator of the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park (a.k.a. G. W. Zoo) in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, Maldonado-Passage had claimed to be the most prolific breeder of tigers in the United States. He twice unsuccessfully ran for public office, first for President of the United States in 2016 as an independent, and then for Governor of Oklahoma in 2018 as a Libertarian.

Rob Lowe & Ryan Murphy Mulling Joe Exotic Scripted Project To Star Lowe

By Nellie Andreeva, Patrick Hipes Rob Lowe may be taking on Joe Exotic, the lead character from Netflix’s hugely popular docuseries Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness.

Lowe is in discussions with Ryan Murphy about a scripted adaptation of the wild tale, which he would headline. Lowe teased the potential project in an instagram post, in which he poses as the Oklahoma animal trainer at the center of the series who is now in prison for hiring a hitman to murder a local animal-rights activist. “Ryan Murphy and I will be developing our version of this insane story.

Stay tuned!” he wrote. Lowe and Murphy are friends; Lowe currently stars in Fox’s spinoff series 9-1-1: Lone Star, co-created and executive produced by Murphy.
