Rescue operation underway to retrieve dog stuck in rabbit hole in Troon

A major rescue operation is said to be underway in Troon to retrieve a dog stuck in a rabbit hole. It’s understood the pooch — thought to be a Patterdale Terrier — has fallen into a rabbit hole in woodland between Dundonald Road and Ottoline Drive.An onlooker has said police and three fire engines are in attendance in attempts to retrieve the dog.One witness said: “A poor dog has fallen into a rabbit hole in woodland just off Dundonald Road, near to Ottoline Drive.“There’s lots of police and the fire service here, including a police command vehicle, and they’re trying to rescue the wee dog.“It’s just a wee thing and looks very young.“The family are there watching on- my heart goes out to them.”Vote for your Ayrshire Live Pub of the Year in the form belowPolice Scotland and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have been contacted for comment.
